Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas fawâtih al-suwar, yaitu pembukaan surah dalam Al-Qur’an, yang menjadi isu penting dalam kajian ilmu tafsir. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis makna yang terkandung dalam fawâtih al-suwar serta memahami bagaimana pembukaan surah memberikan kontribusi terhadap pemahaman keseluruhan isi surah. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif-deskriptif berbasis library research dengan pendekatan ilmu tafsir, dengan data utama berupa teks Al-Qur’an dan referensi sekunder seperti literatur klasik dan modern. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa huruf-huruf pembuka surah memiliki kedudukan unik dalam Al-Qur’an, baik sebagai tanda kebesaran ilahi maupun sarana untuk menarik perhatian pendengar. Interpretasi terhadap huruf-huruf ini terbagi menjadi dua: sebagian ulama menganggapnya sebagai rahasia ilahi, sementara lainnya mencoba menafsirkannya secara simbolis maupun linguistik. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pendekatan integratif dalam memahami fawâtih al-suwar, menggabungkan metode tradisional dan kontemporer untuk menghasilkan pemahaman yang lebih komprehensif.


This research discusses fawâtih al-suwar, which is the opening of the surah in the Qur'an, which is an important issue in the study of interpretation. The purpose of this study is to analyze the meaning of the opening letters of the surah and their relevance in deepening the understanding of the Qur'an, especially in the context of the lives of Muslims today. This study uses a qualitative-descriptive approach based on library research, with the main data in the form of Qur'an texts and secondary references such as classical and modern literature. The results of the study show that the opening letters of the surah have a unique position in the Qur'an, both as a sign of divine greatness and a means to attract the attention of listeners. The interpretation of these letters is twofold: some scholars consider them to be divine secrets, while others try to interpret them symbolically as well as linguistically. This study recommends an integrative approach in understanding fawâtih al-suwar, combining traditional and contemporary methods to produce a more comprehensive understanding.
