Abstract
Latar belakang penelitian ini didasari pada alih status kelembagaan, dari Institute Agama Islam Negeri Samarinda menjadi Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Aji Muhammad Idris (UINSI) Samarinda. Transformasi tersebut sejatinya bertujuan untuk memperluas dan meningkatkan layanan multi sektor pendidikan sebagaimana yang diatur dalam Peraturan Menteri Agama (PMA) Republik Indonesia No.15 Tahun 2014 tentang Perubahan Bentuk Pergutuan Tinggi Keagamaan. Penelitian ini memandang siswa sebagai bagian terpenting dalam penyelenggaraan pendidikan. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis persepsi siswa dalam menginterpretasikan pengalaman mereka terhadap UINSI Samarinda. Jenis penelitian ini adalag kualitatif dengan metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara dan focus group discussion terhadap siswa Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa persepsi siswa Madrasah Aliyah As'adiyah Santan Tengah terhadap UINSI memiliki tingkat persepsi positif, netral, dan negatif yang berbeda-beda berdasarkan pengalaman pribadi, informasi yang diterima, dan peranan media.
The background of this research is based on the change of institutional status, from the Samarinda State Islamic Institute to the Sultan Aji Muhammad Idris State Islamic University (UINSI) Samarinda. The transformation actually aims to expand and improve multi-sector education services as stipulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Religious Affairs (PMA) of the Republic of Indonesia No.15 of 2014 concerning Changes in the Form of Religious Higher Education. This research considers students as the most important part in the implementation of education. Thus, this study aims to analyze students' perceptions in interpreting their experiences towards UINSI Samarinda. This research found that the perceptions of Madrasah Aliyah As'adiyah Santan Tengah students towards UINSI have different levels of positive, neutral, and negative perceptions based on personal experiences, information received, and the role of the media.
