Abstract
Waste is the remains of human activities or natural processes in solid or semi-solid form, and is considered no longer useful. Waste management is an activity to manage waste from the beginning to disposal, including collection, transportation, maintenance, and disposal, accompanied by monitoring and regulation of waste management. Waste management in Islamic education management can be linked to various principles and basic values taught in Islam, especially those related to cleanliness, responsibility, and environmental preservation. There are two types of household waste produced by the environment, namely organic and inorganic waste. Not all houses have trash bins as a place to store it before being collected by garbage collectors, most still use plastic bags as a place to store it. With a system like this, garbage collectors will sort between organic and inorganic waste, so that it takes additional time for garbage collectors before the waste is finally disposed of in a temporary disposal site. Waste management in RW 15, Sukagalih Village, Tarogong Kidul District, Garut Regency, is still considered less than optimal, because there is still overloaded waste. This can happen when the waste collection by the Garut Regency Environmental Service is late in collecting waste from the temporary disposal site in the RW 15 area. This research was conducted in RW 15, Sukagali Village, Tarogong Kidul District, Garut Regency. The average amount of waste produced is 0.34 kg/day/person, which is divided into two types, namely organic waste of an average of 0.20 kg/day/person and inorganic waste of 0.14 kg/day/person, still below the calculation of the Ministry of Environment (2023) which is 0.7 kg/day/person. Apart from that, there is an economic value obtained from the inorganic waste produced, namely by collecting, sorting, and then selling inorganic waste in the form of plastic, cloth, iron, etc. to collectors
